Alabama Human Trafficking Sign Requirements

Alabama Code § 13A-6-170 requires certain establishments to post a National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline notice. Covered locations include establishments that require a liquor or alcoholic beverage license and do not also have a food or beverage permit, certain nuisance hotels, qualifying massage parlors, airports, train stations, bus stations, and businesses that provide strip teasing, topless entertainment, or similar entertainment where employees are not clothed above and below the waist.

The Alabama Public Service Commission also summarizes covered businesses to include certain liquor-licensed establishments, nuisance hotels, airports, bus or train stations, and certain adult entertainment businesses.

Required Alabama notices must be posted in a location conspicuous to the public at the entrance of the business or where posters and notices are customarily posted. The sign must be no smaller than 8.5" x 11".

Our Alabama human trafficking signs are designed to support business posting needs with clear hotline visibility, professional materials, and a format appropriate for commercial environments.

Note: This page is for general product guidance and is not legal advice. Posting requirements can depend on your business type, licenses, location, and local enforcement authority.

Where to Post Human Trafficking Signs in Alabama Businesses

Human trafficking awareness signs work best when they are visible, easy to notice, and placed where people naturally pause or look for posted information:

  • Main Entrances: Post near the front entrance when your business is required to display the notice in a location conspicuous to the public.
  • Customary Notice Areas: Place signs where your business already posts required notices, licenses, permits, labor law posters, or safety information.
  • Restrooms: Restrooms can provide a more private moment for someone to read hotline information, especially in bars, clubs, transit hubs, and entertainment venues.
  • Lobbies and Reception Areas: Useful for offices, service businesses, transportation waiting areas, and commercial facilities with regular visitor traffic.
  • Employee Break Rooms and Back-of-House Areas: Helpful for staff awareness, especially in businesses where employees may interact with vulnerable individuals, travelers, late-night patrons, or high-volume customer traffic.
  • Customer Service Counters or Host Stands: Good for businesses that want hotline information visible near staff-monitored areas.
